Anti-Bird Preventer

My new mooring seems to have a huge bird pooh problem. All the nearby yachts have some sort of anti-bird prevention technique, and they are all different. I wonder which is the best? Please leave a comment is you know of a proven method to dissaude the things from landing on my deck and messing up the varnish!
